Popping into my favorite shop

I'm gearing up for my second pop-in at House of Floralie this Saturday, and it occurred to me that I never posted a recap of the first event we did together, or really, how it even came about! So what better time than now? I love this shop with all my heart, so if you can make it to the event this weekend, this will give you a little idea of what you can expect. (You know, minus the Easter flair!)

In the spring, I was tipped off about a new store that had opened near my favorite places in town (Stella's & Stella's Grocery—obviously). This new shop promised stationery goods, French flavor, and their name automatically had my attention—House of Floralie. So one afternoon after a meeting (which I may or may not have purposely scheduled nearby), I stopped in to check things out. It did not disappoint!

Within minutes of my arrival, I had already introduced myself to Bobby and KK, told them about my paper flower venture, and suggested we collaborate somehow (meaning I'm pretty sure I invited myself to do a pop-up). Luckily they didn't find my "enthusiasm" offensive, we bonded over our mutual love of stationery products, and by the end of the day, we had set a date for our first event!

If you couldn't make that pop-in—which took place the Saturday before Easter—here's what you missed. I created a few unique centerpieces—including a bunny and a chick—which are still two of my favorites (I wonder what they're up to?). I also made some special purple-hued blooms in celebration of House of Floralie's prominent branding.

My favorite thing about popping into HOF is that I get to borrow their gorgeous vintage fern stand. It's the perfect height for my flower buckets, and I feel so official wrapping up bouquets from behind it. Like a real flower shop—I absolutely adore it!

And what could be better than spending the afternoon in a place like this? Surrounded by books, gourmet treats, stationery, candles—basically everything I love to buy for gifts (or when I feel like I deserve a gift), all in one quaint, locally-owned storefront. Perfection.

This Saturday I'll be back for another pop-in, and I'm bringing a fresh crop of autumn-hued roses, new blooms from my fall collection, and other fun accents for a fun day of DIY bouquets.

Plus I know I can't wait to see what new things are in store this week from House of Floralie too! It is almost time to start thinking about the holidays—right?

Here is all of the event information, or you can RSVP on facebook
