Steven’s intricate anniversary gift
For the next few posts, I’ve picked out a couple of Valentine’s Day-worthy projects. These unique bouquets are packed with roses and sweet, romantic details that, while not gifted initially this time of year, feel entirely appropriate for the season!
This wedding bouquet recreation I made for Steven to give to his wife on their first anniversary, came packed with tiny details and luscious roses. Typically when original bouquets contain a large number of filler flowers—like the astilbe and baby’s breath in this piece—my clients often opt to reduce the stem count of those pieces or to leave them out altogether. While these items are inexpensive for traditional florists, they are quite time-intensive to make with paper.
For this piece, we opted to reduce the proportion of the filler florals by about half. This kept the overall style and design of the bouquet in place but prevented the piece from feeling too busy. By using the baby’s breath and astilbe as accents, they also don’t overwhelm all of the gorgeous details and layers within the rose varieties.
Another timeless success!
